Asbestos remediation, plant decontamination, and demolition of two boiler back-end units (GR1 and GR2)

The remediation/demolition works involved the compressor building, electrostatic precipitators and their related electrical switchgear rooms, flue gas ducts, and the chimneys of units 1-2, including their supporting structures and heavy ash storage silos. Additionally, the project included the decontamination and demolition of OCD and diesel pipelines, the demolition of the connecting pipe rack between units 1-2, and the “gas free” remediation of the OCD system for units 1-2. This included the disposal of residual fuel oil and the demolition of equipment, pipelines, electrical systems, and structures in the boiler back-end area and flue gas ducts up to the chimneys.

Demolition of the non-operational boiler back-end equipment of units 1-2 at the A2A Brindisi Power Plant and gas-free remediation of the OCD fuel supply system for both units.
